Mothers Day Gift From Kids

Step 1:

Setup your painting supplies on your craft mat (ours is CHEEKS brand/best on the market in my opinion) by adding water to the detachable dirty water cup, brown + white acrylic paint, and a paint brush.

Step 2:

Mix the white and brown acrylic paint to get your desired color of a “wicker basket.” Then paint your entire paper plate on one side. Let dry.

Step 3:

Wipe clean your craft mat and detach all add-on parts for the next set of MAKING.

Step 4:

Fold the paper plate in half and cut your paper plate in a slight diagonal on each side to create a “basket shape.”

Step 5:

Cut 4-5 Green card-stock pieces as stems for your tulips using scissors or a small paper cutter. Then using the green stems as a guide, measure and cut small white rectangle pieces (wider than flower stem).

Step 6:

Glue horizontal across the top of one side of the basket your small white rectangle pieces. This is going to be the “holders” for when your child slides each tulip stem inside.

Step 7:

Next, place a dark brown piece of paper or card stock underneath the basket and trace the top. 2x

Step 8:

Cut out the traced line x2 by leaving a little space underneath the pencil line to create a thick “basket trim.” Next, cut out a rectangle piece from scrapes to create a handle.

Step 9:

Glue both trim pieces + handle onto basket.

Tulip Cards x4

Step 1 + 2:

Fold a piece of card stock in half. Then draw a tulip shape (or print out one on your computer + create a stencil) on the fold. Repeat this 4x using a separate color for each tulip. Then hand cut the leafs thinking of a “pointed football” shape.

Step 3:
Glue your tulip to the stem. As well, glue on leafs.

Step 4:

Next, have children write a short message on why they love “Mom” or “Grandma” inside each tulip.

Step 5:

Then slide them into the white pockets you glued on earlier. Your tulip flower basket should stay in place as you lift it up to give! Enjoy!

This is sure to be one she'll want to save, A keepsake!
