This is the BEST time of year to craft and MAKE!

At least here in the PNW for us we get lots of rain, clouds and cool weekends so opening up a fresh pack of craft supplies with the fireplace on and asking Alexa to play some music in the background is pure joy. 

If you’re just starting out or nervous to craft with your kids & preteens - I gathered u some tips and tricks over the years that make it enjoyable for all 3 of us which include my youngest (7 years) and my preteen (10 years) and last of course.... me and my anxiety.

DIY Easter Table-scape 2026

We finished! DIY Easter table-scape of our dreams with a total of 5 little DIY projects of this year setup and it's hands down a fav so far. Although we've been doing each project one week or so at a time together, below are all the details for this full look.

Easy Easter Bunny Treat

Who wouldn’t want to see one of these sweet Easter treats at their place setting come Easter brunch? And did I mentioned the little bunnies are “dark” chocolate? Hands down the best🍫

Easter Egg Gift Bags

POV when you take a plain brown bag and make it Easter approved. Now think of all the sweet things we can put inside these Easter egg bags

What I used to MAKE these

Brown paper gift bag 5x8 

Scissors

White paint pen

Bow Paper Plate Craft

Paper plate but MAKE it 🎀! The kind of kids craft that actually becomes decor. 

And for us? I found cutting most shapes for my girls was way more fun than having them paint a round plate and get on board with me that this was going to be turned into a bow. 

MAKING TIPS: Once you cut one half of the bow loop, place on top of a second paper plate and cut around so both sides of your bow loop are balanced. Adults can glue gun (for a clean look) or have kids staple pieces together for more independence.

What you’ll need to MAKE this one?

Paper plates x2-3 (uncoated)

Acrylic paint

Sponge paint brush

New Years Eve Ball Drop Craft For Kids

Happy Nooner! 

A craft kids can MAKE and or you can very well make with them (especially if you want super straight lines or squares on your disco ball) All it took was a little cutting and gluing for this one.  

Supplies:

Round wood circle 14" (Hobby Lobby)

Black + white acrylic paint

CHEEKS 2.0 Craft Mat

Sponge Brush

Scissors

Pencil + Ruler

Mod Podge

Silver Glitter Card-stock

Aluminoin foil 

Optional: Glitter string + glue gun

Setup up all supplies on your craft mat (we are using and love  CHEEKS!)

Using the open pallet space, mix white and black acrylic paint to get your desired shade of grey.

Paint your entire round wooden circle. Let dry completely. 

As your grey circle drys... prep your pieces by cutting squares (about 1inch all around) your glitter cardstock and alumina foil.  (I like to keep those pieces in the dirty and clean cup so my kids can keep things organized)

Next using a ruler and pencil, make horizontal lines going across every 1.5 inches down.

Paint Mod Podge inside each set of your horizontal lines. 

Fill in the space with a glitter piece of card stock, then aluminum foil, glitter card-stock, allusion foil and so on all the way across. Keeping that pattern.

 MAKING TIP: Mode Podge all pieces by “dapping” over the card-stock pieces with mod podge to seal. And swipe mod podge over the allumino foil.

Let dry and or use a blow dryer to speed up the drying time and cut off all "extra" pieces over round shape. 

Optional: Add on a glitter ribbon to hang and display or use as a ball drop!
