Two scoops please! With extra sprinkles! Both Abby and Emma's costumes were made in 24 hours (including two coats of spray paint for Abbys rain boots/ice cream cone). I wouldn't advise this hack for every day use as you can see from the photo above that her paint came off fairly quickly! Great for a last minute hack! Though in the end, I would stick with shoes your little one already has if possible!

For a full video tutorial on how I made her costume and Emma's, you can find it over in instagram under my story highlights titled, "2 scoops!" All of her sprinkles were felt from Hobby Lobby and the rest of her costume is linked below. If you liked this costume, you might also like last years "last minute" Halloween costume found here and or this one. Enjoy!! + happy almost Hallows Eve friends!

Warmly, Steph

Our BOOkie party was so fun, festive, and above all simple! Something I really strive for and appreciate right now during this season of my life. SO it felt sooo good to be able to do something fun for Abby, yet manageable.

Decorating ghost cookies and having all things BOOkie was our theme! The DIY back drop took more time than I initial thought once started...2 hours is what I'd like to say, though I believe it was closer to 3. I could have easily just put up the pink and black Pearl & Jane garland and our personalized "BOOKie" sign (which Amy does offer personalized options in her shop p.s.!) and called it a party! However I really loved having the all white ghost inspired back drop and I"m so glad I took the time to do it! I then finished off the look by bringing in a couple pumpkins from our front porch. And then, I really felt like it was a party!

And again, for this weeks theme of cake pop Friday DIY Halloween Costumes we have my husband joining us! The cake pop Friday Abby and I wait for alllll year!

Warmly, Steph

Our Princess & The Pea sibling costume might be my favorite cake pop Friday DIY Halloween costume yet! Video tutorials for both Emma's "pea" headpiece and Abby's caplet are saved over in  Instagram under my story highlights titled (you guessed it!) Princess & The P!

Abby's capelet cape was a twist off of this no-sew tutorial I found  here through Huffington Post.com It is by far the easiest DIY no-sew cape I could find! And I'm sooo thankful it was out there as  Ruffle & Stuff  really helped give me a base for making something whimsical and fun for Abby! I just left out the ties, arm holes, and then switched the felt fabric for layers of white and sparkly tulle. I also adjusted the measurements to fit my 3 year old (who's really a 4T!) and then decided to add an extra layer for the cape to make it tiered and lastly.... made extra ruffles!

Here's the list of supplies and measurements I did for my own version:

DIY Tooth Fairy & Baby Tooth Costume

Our Tooth fairy and baby tooth costume was so fun to make! And as a mom of a 3.5 month old and toddler these costumes required me to cut up the project into a few nights. Which I wasn't at all surprised!! So after being such a big hit over in instagram, I decided to once again move our series over here to the blog as well so that all the materials can be listed in one easy spot for you. Below is each detail for both Abby's Tooth Fairy and Emmas costume, starting with Abby's pink fluffy dress. Then, a tutorial/demo for every detail (including her dress) is uploaded over in instagram under my story highlights titled, "DIY Tooth Fairy."
Our Tooth fairy and baby tooth costume was just too fun to make!!! And as a mom of a toddler and 3.5 month old I knew these costumes would required a few nights to complete, which is totally ok!! Because dressing Emma up literally over night... has now become my new FAVORITE thing!! It's all because of those cheeks, and that face!

So I went ahead listed below are all materials and details for both girls costumes after once again, being a huge hit over in instagram. Then, a tutorial/demo for everything (including her dress) is saved under my story highlights in Instagram titled, "DIY Tooth Fairy."

The pumpkin bucket is actually a DIY upgrade! I used this pink spray paint to paint the pumpkin bucket (2 coats + sealer) and black craft paint to fill in the eyes, nose and mouth. Everything inside was truly hand picked by my eyes and heart, equally.  : )

Below is my letter to Abby explaining everything in her bucket

DIY pumpkin bucket upgrade, halloween

Dear Abby!

This is the month you've been waiting for all year! Halloween! I pulled together a few things to help make it extra special! First, I painted your old trick or treat
pumpkin bucket your favorite color.  Pink!

When we visit the pumpkin patch this week, I knew this  “Hi Pumpkin” t-shirt would be the perfect way to dress and celebrate the day you've been asking for, since June.

For home, I got you this very special  “BOO” holiday flag to use as we continue our dance parties in the kitchen! Now when we play your all-time favorite song, “monster mash!” you’ll have some extra motivation to create new and amazing dance moves. I can’t wait to see what you do!

And while you dance, I love watching you perfect your twirl so I thought a new polka dot twirling dress would be magical.

I made you a glitter shooting star that is detachable, so you can add some festive Halloween flare to our preschool backpack all month long. Just because I know you’ll like it (like mother, like daughter!)

And lastly this  light up star wand will help you light your way on Halloween as you lead me, baby sis, and daddy through our neighborhood for trick or treating!

I love you Abby! and I can’t wait to create all these magical memories with you all month long!

Love, Mommy
