Fake Cake DIY Gift Wrap

A super fun kid friendly x gift giving fake cake! 

I used a combination of crating various supplies on top our fav CHEEKS brand craft mats which meant, I was able to paint, glue gun and roll out sweet little cherry's while building my cake. All. The. Things. Want to MAKE one? Here's what I did...

Paint all your paper mache box’s + lids. Let completely dry

While they dry, wipe down your craft space. Ours is using my fav craft mat - CHEEKS brand 2.0 craft mat as I can use it to paint, glue + mold etc. All the things! As each part is detachable AND has magnetic pieces on the bottom to reconnect.

Using Polymer clay, roll 8-9 balls and using a small tool (I used the end of my paint brush)

to make a small hole for the pipe cleaner to go in.

Bake the polymer clay for 15-30 minutes per 1/4 inch of thickness at 275’F

(My cherry’s were 1.5 inches thick so I baked them for 60 minutes)

While they bake, glue gun your ruffle ribbon to the bottom of your paper mache box.

Repeat for your second layer. 

Add on one last layer to the very top lid.

Next, pinch the ruffle ribbon (from hobby lobby) by using glue dots in between the layers so they 

Connect and become your “Frosting detail.”

Glue your glitter rope to the bottom of your cake in a wide and “U” with a point at the top.

Once your cherries are baked and cool. Glue gun green sparkle pipe cleaner to the Cherry hole. 

Glue gun your cherries to your cake.

Add your desired gift items inside your cake + give!
